I send the transcript of my last post to my dad (who is part of the 1%....whom I respect and admire and hold in the highest regard because he is completely self-made, has always done right, and is one of the only companies that actually turned a profit for his investors in the recession).
Here is his reply.

Nice job.
He/she seems to be protesting the entire American political system /
capitalism.....just a reminder you can leave if you don't like it.
In capitalism there are winners and losers. We should celebrate the
winners b/c their success raises the standard of living for everyone.
Want to compare the standard of living btwn the poor in the U.S and
other countries??
If you want to protest that people other than you are successful,
there is a system for you, it's called socialism and communism. FYI,
it doesn't work as well as it's advertised.
We should all be unhappy with fraud and crime. Madoff is not
capitalism....do you think there is no corruption in socialism /
communism? We should work to eliminate illegal activities, not the
essence of our systems success....the ability to achieve whatever
level of success we desire with hard work and a measure of luck.
On bank bailouts. The banks paid the govt back with interest. You made
a profit. They paid it back over a year ago. Can we move on please??
The auto unions that received a bailout have not repaid the govt.
Speaking of unions, maybe you'd like to focus on the unions (that are
part of the protest). The largest unionized workforce is the federal
and state govt workforce. Their benefits, pensions and healthcare are
extremely generous / costly and the service we the taxpayer receives
is very poor. $100,000 for a janitor? Really? We should be protesting
the crushing burden of govt unions on the economy and jobs.
Get a life, find a real cause and make a difference. The U.S has big
challenges ahead. Maybe we should focus on not driving the bus into
the wall we are rapidly approaching through social benefits we as a
country can no longer afford....if you are protesting the end of the
"free lunch", regrettably we can no longer afford to provide it for
free. Get a job and try to contribute.
