I love this movie. I love this movie. I love this movie. It's one of those wonderful movies where your mind races the entire time and right when you think you've figured it out, the ending hits you and you go "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" and have to watch the whole thing again, smiling as you re-piece it together.
Even now, 5 years later, I still feel the same thrill as I watch it again. I just noticed a new (seemingly insignificant) detail that made me go "Oh heeeeeeeeey.......I see what cha did there."
The movie is based on a short story by Steven Millhauser (which I haven't read, but really want to) who, I found out, teaches at one of the colleges I applied to. Wish I'd gone now! Oh well. :)
The acting, as well, just adds more to it. Paul Giamatti is such a wonderful actor- he plays it so calmly, completely enveloped in his character.
Also, I'm a nut for cinematography- it's gorgeous, this movie, simply gorgeous.
I may watch it again after this. :)
