I'm a pretty big fan of Jodi Picoult; I enjoy her books and the issues she brings up. While some of her stories may seem the same (or at least similar), I still enjoy all of them for the different issues and problems they bring up.
When I saw this one, (her latest), in Costco for the grand price of $9.99; I figured I'd get it; I'd have something to distract myself instead of homework.
I read it in two days.
I cried, I laughed, I agonized, I empathized.
It was beautiful, completely unexpected.
I loved Picoult's presentation of the characters. What it means to be gay- or even different- in our society. How many loopholes 'different' people have to jump through just to be recognized, acknowledged by the rest of the world.
There are some fantastic quotes from the book; too many to post them here. Go read it if you can (like I said, $9.99 at Costco). Hopefully it can give you a greater understanding.
Isn't that what we all want?
